Advanced Braking Systems

To become an Accredited Diagnostic Technician we offer a pathway of 11 one day courses, followed by a two day accreditation. The courses are designed to lead in to each other, but can be taken individually as singular, stand-alone courses to enhance your skill set if preferred or required. You can also choose to sit the courses and not continue to the final accreditation if you wish.

This course offers an in-depth understanding of advanced braking systems. Covering ABS, Traction control, ESC and stability control & I-booster braking systems for EVs & Hybrids.

Subjects covered include:
• The relationship of sensors and CAN-bus
• Connected sensors & how rain sensors are related to ABS network on some vehicles
• ABS sensors
• How to diagnose and what happens when a test lamp is used on an ABS circuit
• Overview of HDC
• ESP
• Hill start assist
• Yaw rate sensors & TCS logic
• Advantages and disadvantages of active sensors
• Brake stroke simulation braking
