Overview

IMI Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance Activities – Unit 2.2

This course is designed for individuals who will have an interest in gaining the knowledge to work safely when carrying out routine maintenance activities on Electric/Hybrid vehicles.

It is therefore designed for those people who may encounter electric/hybrid vehicles within a routine maintenance situation. It also contains the knowledge and skills required to work safely around a vehicle that may have had damage to its high energy/electrical system.

On completing this course, technicians will have gained both knowledge of high voltage hybrid technologies and an understanding of their dangers. This course is suited for technicians with a basic understanding of high and low voltage electrical systems, who require up-to-date knowledge of electric/hybrid vehicle.

Course Prerequisites

The technician should be working in the light vehicle sector of the industry and ideally have a least two years experience to ensure they are familiar with the skills, knowledge and techniques required to service, maintain and repair vehicles with high voltage batteries/ components such as hybrid or pure electric vehicles.

This is a one day course.

Progression

Once completed, technicians can then progress onto Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Repair and Replacement*

*Only if they already have a level 3 qualification in light vehicle maintenance & repair or equivalent.
