IMI Level 2 Award in Preparing Heavy Electric/Hybrid Vehicles for Repair

This course is designed for individuals who will have an interest in gaining the knowledge to work safely when carrying out routine maintenance activities on heavy electric/hybrid vehicles.

It is therefore designed for those people who may encounter electric/hybrid vehicles within a routine maintenance situation. It also contains the knowledge and skills required to work safely around a vehicle that may have had damage to its high energy/electrical system.

On completing this course, technicians will have gained both knowledge of high voltage hybrid technologies and an understanding of their dangers. This course is suited for technicians with a basic understanding of high and low voltage electrical systems, who require up-to-date knowledge of heavy electric/hybrid vehicle.

Course Prerequisites

HGV/Bus coach experience at level 3

It contains one mandatory unit – HEV2 (Also covered in the level 3 award)

Individuals can then progress onto the Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement

Who Should Attend?

Individuals interested in taking this course will need to possess appropriate vehicle maintenance and repair knowledge and skills at level 2. Vehicle Technicians & Body shop staff working on Heavy Electric/Hybrid Vehicles.
