IMI Level 3 Award in Automotive Refrigerant Handling (EC842-2006) F-Gas

• To demonstrate your practical knowledge and techniques when working with AC refrigerant
• To demonstrate a methodical workshop procedure when carrying out Air Conditioning recovery, recycling, evacuation, recharging and leak detection
• To work within current EC legislation and regulations when carrying out Air Conditioning activities
• Identify the refrigerant contained within the vehicle AC system

Please return completed application forms to at least 1 week prior to attending the course.

Course Contents

• Recover/evacuate the refrigerant from a vehicle using the equipment and refrigerant supplied (see assessor for time requirement)
• Recharge the vehicle AC system with the correct type, quantity of refrigerant and oil (DO NOT add leak dye to the system)
• Ensure that the AC system is sealed and there are no refrigerant leaks after the system has been recharged with the correct refrigerant and oil
• Ensure that the AC system is working and remove all AC equipment from the vehicle, storing the AC equipment correctly
