IMI Levels 2/3 Awards in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Maintenance, System Repair & Replacement

Pro-Tech MOT & Automotive Academy offer Electric/Hybrid Vehicle training delivered by our Technical Trainers who have extensive knowledge of the Automotive Industry. We offer all your Electric/Hybrid training needs from our fully equipped Training Centre, to give your existing technicians and testers the significant core knowledge, skills and the ability to work safely around and maintain Electric/Hybrid vehicles.

This qualification is designed for those people who may encounter electric/hybrid vehicles within a routine maintenance situation. It also contains the knowledge and skills required to work safely around a vehicle that may have had damage to its high energy/electrical system.

Course content

This Electric/Hybrid Vehicle course consists of 3 training days at Pro-Tech Academy. Candidates are then required to sit an online theory assessment and carry out a practical skills assessment to complete the course.

Within the 3-day course at Pro-Tech Academy, candidates will cover all the knowledge and skills from the Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance Activities.

In addition, the course gives the candidate the skills to:

  • Work safely on an Electric/Hybrid Vehicle
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance on high voltage electrical systems
  • Use information from manuals to carry out the task thoroughly
  • Gather information from manuals etc and make suitable and appropriate recommendations

Entry Requirements for the Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement:

Whilst there are no formal prerequisites, we recommend that candidates must be able to demonstrate that they hold a Level 3 qualification or alternatively have at least 3 years’ experience in the Service and Repair of Light Vehicles in order to successfully complete this course.
