SEG Level 2 Award in the Service and Repair of Electrically Propelled Light Vehicles
This qualification is suitable for those who work on or around electric/hybrid vehicles, including (but not limited to) the following examples of job titles: Mechanics; Technicians; Vehicle Fitters; Vehicle Electricians; Recovery Specialists; Vehicle Inspectors; Body repairers.
The course includes essential knowledge of the dangers associated with electric and hybrid vehicles, the necessary precautions to follow to avoid these dangers, and an understanding of the operating principles of these vehicles.
This course is suitable for:
• Technicians with a basic understanding of hybrid & EV systems
• Those who work on or around electric/hybrid vehicles
Modules Covered
• Understanding the risks and hazards associated with electric & hybrid light vehicles
• Know and understand the different types of electric & hybrid light vehicles, associated technology, components & operating principles
• Know how to prepare an electric and hybrid light vehicle when carrying out routine service & repair procedures
• Know how to work safely on electric & hybrid light vehicles
Eligibility Criteria
• There are no formal prerequisites for this course
• A basic understanding of electric and hybrid vehicle systems would be advantageous
Assessment
• 60-minute examination consisting of 20 multiple choice questions covering all modules of the course
• The pass mark is 60%, with a distinction achievable at 80%.
