SEG Level 2 Award in MOT Testing (Class 4&7)

Who is the course for?
This qualification has been developed for candidates who wish to become MOT testers for light vehicles classes 4 & 7.

Course Prerequisites

Current full UK driving licence for the vehicle class within the test group they wish to test

Be a skilled mechanic that has at least four years full time employment, permitted by law, in the service and repair of the vehicle types to be tested.

Must possess an acceptable vocational educational qualification or acceptable accreditation

Have no convictions, as defined in Appendix 7 MOT Testers Guide
(DBS required)

Course Aims
The candidate will obtain and develop practical skills and knowledge that is required for MOT Testing.

Candidates will be required to demonstrate skills and knowledge throughout the course.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be through an online multiple choice exam conducted at the end of the course and Practical direct observation of a simulated mot test (with use of an assistant).

How long is the course?
The course is three days .

What will I achieve?
Successful completion by the candidate of both theory and practical assessment leading to a qualification Level 2 award in MOT Testing
